8/20 - Day 7 - Green Bay, Part 2: Packers and Rockers

Our day began with a tour of Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. You certainly didn't have to be a football fan to appreciate the history and tradition involved here. Our tour guide was excellent, and we saw everything behind the scenes, from the luxury boxes to the tunnel the home team uses to take the field. We also had a chance to visit the largest and best stocked gift shop most of us have ever seen. It was a very good stop.

And, who can't live without Packer-branded toast?

Largest gift shop I've ever seen...

Lombardi...

...and Lambeau.

Our excellent tour guide (unless you're from Minnesota).

Yes, there was a game last night; these are the "empties".

Field-level perspective.

In the afternoon, small groups went in different directions, whether it be a cheese tour, a kitchen store, or just back to the campground to relax a bit. Early in the evening, we all got back in carpool formation for the scenic trip through back roads to Reifs Mills where we attended the Palace Theater "Whole Lotta Shakin'" rock-and-roll revue. Complete with a home-style buffet and the "Way Back Bar" (conveniently located way in the back of the room), people were soon dancing in the aisles.
