8/17 - Day 4 - Wisconsin Dells by Boat

Today, we had two different boat tours. In the morning, we toured the lower part of the Wisconsin Dells ( a very scenic segment of the Wisconsin River) in a "Duck Boat". These amphibious vehicles were developed for World War II and travel on both land and water. The tour was very informative.

We saw several deer watching the Duck Boats pass through the woods on the way to the  Wisconsin River.

Lunch was at an all-you-can-eat Italian Buffet in "downtown" Wisconsin Dells, right across the street from the "Winnebago Gift Shop".  Really?  Guessing it's the tribe, not the RV manufacturer...

In the afternoon, we broke into two groups: those interested in a traditional boat tour of the Upper Dells and those more hardy souls who were willing to risk getting wet during the "Jet Boat" ride. Guess what? Both groups had a great time!

"Slow" Boat...

...and Jet Boat.

During the tour, we stopped at a slot canyon for a short hike.

Wet...

...and not wet!

Later, it was back to the RV Park for social hour followed by dinner on our own. Quite a few couples stayed and helped make a big dent in the volume of extra food that had accumulated over the first few days of the caravan.
